Training means an organized activity aimed at imparting required skills set, information or knowledge to improve the recipient's performance or to help him/her to meet their career goals. Nowadays technology is developing continuously and at a faster rate, what is new today get obsolete within an hour. System and practises getting outdated soon with the development and discoveries of new technology .If we failed catching up its pace or do not adapt themselves with new growing technology demands, soon we get stale.

Industrial training: It refers to a program which aims to provide supervised practical training within specific time frame. Industrial training provides an opportunity to experience real work situation and accelerate learning by practically experiencing all sorts of things which students have learnt in the class room.

Objective of Industrial Training

• Industrial training equips students with necessary skills sets, experiences and knowledge.
  There are number of colleges/institutes offering varied degree course in IT but enrolling in IT institute is not sufficient, it is not a promise of great career. Institutes and colleges follow definite pattern or syllabus; it could not be possible for them to revise it with each and every new discovery and development in the world. It's the students who have to toil hard, look for other options by which he/she acquired necessary skills sets to compete in the rapid changing market. A good Industrial Training institute is one of the options. It bridges the gap in academic curriculum and in the industry. It can help students to learn new technology, stay them updated with market demand, making them aware of new development and discoveries and develop skills and competencies require to become employable.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge both are inseparable and important part of learning.
  Theoretical knowledge is the base of doing thing practically and it is of no use until or unless it is not practically implemented. Sitting in classroom, discussing on certain topic is entirely different thing from that practically experiencing it in real work field ie “Learning a concept” and “Implementing a concept” both are different. Industrial training provides the opportunity to implement things what they have learned in classroom, practically face all the possible real time work challenges and learn how to deal with such problem in the most efficient, logical way and at the earliest.   Organization or industries prefer candidates who are technically qualified, well trained and have experience in working real-work environment. They don't want to spend their resources (time and money) in training or building candidates for their organization when they already have better options in the market of getting well trained qualified candidates. It also provides opportunities to students to get job in the same place where they are undergoing industrial training.
• Industrial training exposes students to real work environment and accustoms them with organizational structure, business operation, work ethics etc. They get to know how to interact with clients, understand their expectation, real time software application, installation, configuration, testing etc which they have just studied in books.
• In addition to imparting required skill set, it provides students work experience
  while they are studying their chosen subject. This is added advantages for them.
• Industrial training provides them exposure to tools and technology used in the industry. None of the tools used in industry are the part of their academic curriculum. It also provides the opportunity to be part of the live projects which sharpen their technical skill, analytical and logical thinking and build self confidence in them.
  

Nowadays students are running merely to collect certificate paying no attention to their industrial training due to which there is serious lack of trained professionals with the desired skill sets in the IT industry. Students have to seriously think that where they want to see themselves in the future because certificate is no use without practical experience. During final placement the first question that is asked by the recruiter is about their industrial training and the project handled because it reflected the candidates knowledge and skills on their respective domain.
